Hello cat people!
My name is Jessica. I am the proud pet Mommy of 4 wonderful cats. They are all rescued either from the local animal shelter or from rescue groups who saved them from local shelters. I have had cats all my life as well as dogs and other pets.
Something as simple as finding the right food can make cat’s lives healthier and happier. My tabby boy had food intolerances and finding an affordable and amazingly healthy food, helped him instantly. This food has probiotics for digestion and 20 superfoods in every variety of their adult cat, kitten, senior, weight management, and dog foods.
I have learned through the years there are very effective treatments for common cat behavior problems and health problems. Is your cat peeing outside the box, jumpy and skittish, sick due to food allergies or suffering from tooth and gum disease or bad breath? Solutions actually exist for handling maddening problem behaviors such as spraying, or the dreaded removing cat pee smells from fabric.
Supplements and treatments for common health problems can save your cat from pain save you from expense and stress! One of the most common problems in cats are recurrent upper respiratory infections. If your cat is sneezing, has red, goopy eyes or holds it’s ears at 90 degrees or scratches them, they may have a respiratory infection. I found a supplement that treats and prevents these and works much better than annoying antibiotic eye drops or ointments that cats hate.
Do you want an easy way to make sure your cat doesn’t have a UTI or other urinary tract problem? I have a solution! Check it out here.
Do you want tips to get your cat to drink more water, or suspect your cat may have constipation? I can help! I have been through these issues.
Do you want to find good health insurance for your dog or cat? I can help with a comparison of top pet insurance companies.
I want to share these easy solutions and make your life easier!
Please look around Thrivingcat.com for these easy solutions. Behavior and health solutions are categorized in the menu on the right side of the screen.
My goal is to make life easier for all pet parents with simple, straightforward advice and products that work!
The easier it is to keep your cat healthy and content, the happier and healthier your home.
I grew up in a remote part of Alaska with a whole dog team full of huskies, other animals and one lucky cat who got to cuddle inside but go roam outside as there were no other people, cars, stray dogs or other cats to endanger him. Now all our cats are indoor kitties unless they go for supervised walks. I love cats and dogs and want to help make them comfortable and safe while helping pet owners save money and live stress free!
Please leave any comments or questions and I will answer them as soon as possible. I would love to hear about your cats and any issues you have had or discoveries you have made.
Happy cats to you!
Jessica

Hello Jessica,
I am having quite a devil of a time managing hair balls. I have 5 cats and now that we are approaching the warmer months, they are all losing their longer hair and of course swallowing it when grooming. Hairballs EVERYWHERE!!! I have tried the hairball gel…. I have put a bead on my finger and tried to get them to lick it off, I have tried to sneak it into an occasional bowl of moist food. NO go on either account. I am thinking of trying a food specialized in hairball control. What do you recommend??? Please help me!
Hi Rae Anne,
I wish I had a good, simple answer for you! My cats don’t get hairballs that often so it isn’t something that I have had to opportunity to learn all that much about. They do occasionally but we just clean it up since it isn’t that often. I have tried the gels like you without much success. Just too messy and difficult. Are your cats long haired? My short haired French Chartreux mix is actually more prone to them since her fur is really dense. Sorry I am not more help!
Jessica
Hello Jessica,
I am going to try a cat food especially for hairballs. I’ll be getting that the first of the month. I’ll let you know how it works out. Oh, and all my cats have long hair except one. He has a sensitive tummy and likes to projectile vomit, so he’s going on a sensitive food diet beginning the first of the month also. I’ll let you know how that goes also.
Thanks for your help!
Rae Anne,
I know it is hard to find a food for sensitive kitties. Our Tigger has a sensitive stomach also. He throws up all the time. We had to try a ton of different foods for him. We also wanted a grain-free food with natural ingredients. We ended up settling on the Solid Gold brand. They all love it and none of them have stomach issues on it! It is also very high-quality and full of good ingredients like salmon oil, peas, broccoli, parsley and carrots as well as probiotics. Some of the varieties are grain-free, some have brown rice or barley. Now we give them all the “Fit as a Fiddle” variety which is for weight control. They still love it just as much!!!
I have learned that PetSmart has much better prices than PetCo.
Let me know how the food you are getting works out!

Hello,
Thank you for your interest. I do not have a newsletter set up yet but I will let you know when I do!

I have 4 cats and they all have such different personalities lol. Do you or anyone in comments know why a cat would chew on cords? Out of the 4, one of them eats our cords. I have gone through 4 laptop chargers, about 20 phone chargers and my boyfriends brand new massage / heater reclining chair power cords.
Hello Laurie,
Your question prompted me to update my post on cat chewing. This will give you a good overview of the many medical, behavioral, dietary and other reasons they can chew and what you can do about it. https://thrivingcat.com/why-do-cats-chew-things
Thanks for stopping by and thanks for your question!

I love cats, too, and have always had two at a time. But when I lost them, I decided that it’s so hard to lose a pet that I just wouldn’t have any more for a while. But I am “grandma” to two cats and four dogs so that’s the next best thing! This is a great site and I’ll be sure to pass it on.
Hello Cheryl,
I understand how you feel. I had one at a time as a kid and was heartbroken when I lost my boy when I went to college. Now my husband and I have 4 kitties that are all rescued. They are our family now and we adore them. We also had dog teams but don’t want to get another dog until we have our own house and yard again.
Thanks for stopping by,
Jessica
