Pet Alive supplements work!
Yesterday, we took the kitties to the vet. We got good news regarding their health but also good news regarding the quality of the PetAlive brand supplements! Our veterinarian took my advice about PetAlive brand Gumz-n-Teeth. She looked into it and feels it is a great product. She recommends it too all her pet parents now! I was thrilled to hear this. I hope this advice will save many pets from painful tooth and gum disease and tooth removal. I also hope it saves pet owners money and stress and worry for their pets!
All of the cats have also lost weight. Tigger lost a pound which is a lot for a cat! The combination of PetAlive brand SlenderPet and Solid Gold brand Grain and Gluten Free cat food for weight control seems to do the trick. The Gumz-n-Teeth and SlenderPet supplements are available in my respective reviews. Gumz-n-Teeth here and SlenderPet here. I will be writing cat food reviews in coming weeks.
While we finally found a dry food that is healthy, that the cats all love and helps maintain their weight, we may have to fine tune their wet food. Tigger has always had a sensitive stomach and throws up regularly. This dry food is great but the vet thinks Tigger’s throwing up may be due to food allergies in the wet food. Since our cats are picky and get a different flavor of wet food every few days we rotate through many flavors. It may be that some of those varieties have proteins that Tigger is sensitive too. She said cats are often allergic to dairy and fish, while dogs are often allergic to chicken! It seems strange that chicken would be a common allergen for dogs! I know the cats aren’t crazy about foods with tuna in them so maybe this is a problem. The dry food they are on has pollock however so it must not be all fish.
Time to keep careful track of which foods cause a problem. I am just so glad we found a dry food that works! The wet food is just a vehicle to give them their supplements.
It is so encouraging to see results with these products from the PetAlive and Solid Gold brands.
If you have pet food allergy stories or other thoughts please let me know in a comment!
Hey Jessica, everyone who owns a cat needs to visit your website because there’re so many nuggets you give out regularly. I never knew cats suffer from food allergy like humans.
The solutions you find for yours will be such a welcome information and resource for any pet owner who might be experiencing similar challenges. Great post.
Thank you so much Chuka! I hope I can help pets and their owners here with this site. I am still thinking about the first comment I had here which was from you asking about how to keep cats out of a garden. I have heard since I responded to you that many of the citrus products really don’t work! So, I wanted to make sure I didn’t lead you astray! There are mild electrical mats I have heard of that are made for this purpose. They give the cat a little zap if they walk on it. I have not tried one or seen it so I cannot recommend it though!
As far as these supplements from PetAlive however, I cannot recommend them highly enough. I think it is awesome they work for both dogs and cats! How handy to have one set of supplements such as Slender Pet for weight and Gumz-n-Teeth and just mix it into all your pet’s food! That is so much safer, easier and better than putting each pet on prescription medication!
Wow, I’m glad you take such good care of your kitties. We always work to find a good food, that is high quality and controls hairballs since we have several long hair cats. The hairball vomiting becomes a problem otherwise. I love your site, but then that doesn’t surprise me when I have 13 cats in the house.
Thanks Liz! Yes, we found a great food finally. It is Solid Gold brand. I will be writing about that next as it is actually healthy, they all love it, it is grain free and they have lost weight on the weight control formula!
Thanks for the comment!
Jessica
pet supplements are very interesting to me, it seems to me our pets food does not provide enough nutrients for them just like much of our food for us.
great news for the kitties, I am happy to hear pet alive did such a great job for the kitties health.
Can you recommend any good supplements for my dog, he is healthy and i want him to stay healthy? does pet alive product doggy supplements as well
Hello,
Yes, all the Pet Alive supplements are made for dogs and cats. That is one of the reasons I really like these products. There is a picture of a dog and cat on every bottle.
Depending on your dog’s needs I am sure there is a Pet Alive product that would benefit them. For example the “Gumz n Teeth” supplement would benefit many dogs with doggy breath caused by the build-up of tarter which leads to gum disease. I wish I knew about this for my huskies! Also the “Immunity and Liver” support helps with all around health. I have reviews of these products and more on my site.
Thanks for the comment,
Jessica
Will this work for dogs as well? I have two dogs and one needs to go to the vet for teeth cleaning because his teeth have some issues. I hate to put him through this. If this will help make his teeth better, then that would be so wonderful! I like the SlenderPet as well. I started my other little guy on Healthy Weight dog food and he is ALWAYS hungry. If I can give him a supplement that will work, but also allow him to ear normal. It would be great!
Hello,
Yes, all the Pet Alive supplements are made for dogs as well as cats. There are dosage directions for both on the bottle and a picture of a dog and cat on every bottle. That is one of the reasons I love these products.
It has been SUCH a relief to find something that actually works for the cat’s teeth. Instead of dental cleanings under anesthesia and teeth being pulled every year, now they are just healthy!
The Slender Pet is helpful but not as dramatically as Gumz n Teeth. My cat is still overweight if we don’t put her on a diet. The other two are maintaining a healthy weight though without a diet. I guess it depends on the degree to which they are overweight.
Let me know if you have any other questions.
Thanks,
Jessica
Love, love, love it when you can get your vet turned on to natural remedies! I have used Pet Alive supplements for my cats with great success. It always makes me so happy to see people treating their babies so well.
My little old tabby is 18 years old and people can’t believe it when they see her. Health issues in the past led me to seek out natural alternatives instead of medicine, healthy momma=healthy kitty 🙂 I wonder if you’ve ever used Only Natural Pets products before? I have been using them for years, also with great success. Take care!
Thank you for your comments! I am glad to hear Pet Alive works for you too!
Yes, I do order from Only Natural Pets. Do you have any experience with digestive enzymes for your cat? I am thinking of trying some for my kitty that had the bad teeth. He also throws up often and we (and the vet) cannot find any reason why. He seems to have a stomach acid problem so we have him on low doses of Pepcid. I don’t want him to stay on that forever though. I have heard digestive enzymes can help.
Thanks!
Jessica
Hey Jessica,
Found the page really informative, especially on the weight loss product.
We have a cat who has been told to shed a little bit of weight by the vet and have tried dropping the food intake. Not sure if it did much for him though so perhaps a product like slenderpet would be perfect.
Thanks for your assistance!
Hello Craig,
Thank you for your comment. I give my cats Slender Pet mixed into their food every day along with the other Pet Alive supplements, Gumz n Teeth and Liver and Immunity Support. I think it works as a stand alone for controlling weight in some pets but others still need a diet as well and possibly thyroid assistance. Our fat kitty girl needs less dry food even though she is on Slender Pet. Wet food is better for weight control. The two boys however, seem to be fine on Slender Pet and all the food they want!
