Pet Alive Supplements

What Are PetAlive Supplements?

Pet Alive is a high quality brand of natural supplements for dogs and cats that I have used for years with amazing results. Their products range from immunity and upper respiratory support, digestion and arthritis treatment and supplements to keep pet’s teeth clean. There are dozens of supplements in the Pet Alive brand. All use organic herbs and plant based ingredients with no artificial preservatives, colors, flavors or fillers.

What Form Do They Come In?

Pet Alive Supplements often use the same product for both dogs and cats so one bottle is all you need. Many Pet Alive supplements are clear capsules filled with the supplement as a powder. For dogs, these capsules can be swallowed whole or mixed into food. For cats, the capsules can be twisted open and the powder mixed into wet food. Pet Alive also makes liquid drops and tiny pills that are small enough for cats as well as dogs depending on the product.

Here Are The Pet Alive Supplements I Use Every Day for My Pets

Pet Alive Gumz n Teeth This is an amazing supplement! I can’t recommend this one enough! This has saved my cat’s teeth over the years. My boy is prone to tooth and gum disease and had teeth cleaned and extracted at the vet every year even though he was very young. The last time we went through this I thought there has to be a better way! I started him on this supplement and it has now been 5 years since his last cleaning instead of 1. He is due for another but that 5 year reprieve is all due to Pet Alive Gumz n Teeth! That has saved us many thousands of dollars at the vet and tons of stress and suffering for him.

Pet Alive Liver and Immunity SupportThis is a supplement that strengthens our pets immunity and helps them stay healthy by aiding the liver, kidneys and urinary tract. This helps them fight off upper respiratory infections which are so common in cats, especially those from shelters. Reviewers have said this saved their pet from liver failure and cured serious problems with kidneys, liver and adrenal problems. They also say this gives pets more energy and keeps them healthy.

Pet Alive Supplements Are Easy to Use for you Dog or Cat!

I highly recommend Pet Alive supplements and give them to my cats every day. I mix the supplements in their wet food so it is ready to go and keep a tub of it in the fridge. For each meal I simply give them a spoon of wet food in their bowl and I am done! It is so easy! You don’t have to force your pet to swallow pills or lick up medicated gels or pastes they don’t want that make a big mess! These supplements have a natural, slightly “green” smell but my pets don’t mind them. They do not have any chemical smell and don’t contain man made chemicals, artificial colors, flavors or preservatives.

Please try Pet Alive supplements and if you want any more ideas for great cat products, please see my Top Recommended Cat Products including my favorite food, litter, affordable cat trees and toys as well as cleaning products.

    Hello Again Jessica,

Everything is so clear, organized and well written.
I’m sorry I don’t have cats to take advantage of the products myself.
I did bookmark you site the last time for other family members who still
have cats. One of which they are having a problem with not going in the
    litter box.
She’s a big cat and she jumped from the stairs over my head
to the floor the last time I was there. Kinda frightening. They don’t know
    why she’s so nervous.

    All the best,

      Hello Vanna,

Thank you for your compliments! I recommend Jackson Galaxy Safe Space for Cats Drops for the nervousness as well as Sentry Calming Collars. The same two products work for the causes of going outside the box as well, provided there is not a medical cause. I hope your family can give these a try!

Hi there Jessica! Thank you for such a well-informed post. I have grown up with many cats in my family, and we currently have three. We are very lucky though that no problems have arisen that would call for a product like this. I will definitely keep it in mind for the future though. I’m glad to hear that your cats really respond to the product, that’s great! How many cats do you have, and do you give the supplements to all of them? Thanks again 🙂

      Hello Calista,

I am glad to hear your cats are healthy. That is wonderful. My husband and I have 4 cats now. We just got the 4th this year. She is a 14 year old calico girl with extra toes. She is a sweetie, amazingly smart (I can tell her to drink water or go to the box and she will!), and super healthy. No one would ever guess her age.

We have a 10 year old orange tabby boy who was our first cat together and is our baby, a 10 year old French Chartreux princess, and a 6 year old Norwegian Forest Cat who is extremely loyal and follows me around.

We put the Pet Alive Supplements in their wet food which we mix up in batches and keep in the fridge. They all get the same food and the same amount of the supplements. We give them the “Gumz n Teeth” and “Liver and Immunity Support” every day.

      Thanks for stopping by!

Thank you for researching this for us! I was looking into buying some supplements for my dog but wasn’t sure even where to start.

Pet Alive Supplements sound like the ticket! I also like that one bottle can serve both for dogs and for cats. We are thinking of getting a cat soon, so this will be very useful.

Our dog has some teeth problems, and I really hope Pet Alive Supplements will help him.

We started with a tooth cleaning at the vet and then gave our cats the Tooth and Gum supplement every day in wet food. I would do it the same way with a dog. I used to have a dog team here in Alaska when I was younger. I wish we had this supplement back then!

As a pet owner, I love that you reference the Pet Alive Liver and Immunity Support! A lot of pet owners focus on the gum  and teeth products (the one you linked is amazing by the way) but fail to realize the other products that are important. You mention that this product helps immunity with the kidney, liver and urinary tract, but it also assists with health longevity. I have a miniature schnauzer that is 16 years old but has the energy of a puppy- and I credit that to the organic products from Pet Alive!

      Hello,

I am so glad you use and like Pet Alive supplements! I have seen so many reviews from pet owners stating these supplements have helped their pets with a wide range of issues and some even credit these supplements with saving their pet’s lives.

I don’t have any pets that old yet who have been on Pet Alive so I can’t speak to longevity yet but I know these supplements help with health problems so I am sure that will be the ultimate effect.

Thank you so much for sharing your experience with Immunity and Liver support! I am glad your 16 year old dog is so healthy! That is great!

I love how these products are organic. It’s hard to find  a good trust worthy brand for pets. I saw that Blue Buffalo had a bad breakout with their products & it is a popular brand. I would have to give my cats the liquid kind since they have to have special food which is no wet food. Looks easy to use. Do you know if this has an odd taste? That could be diffickt in making a pet eat the pill or the liquid.

    1. Jessica (Post author)

      Hello Rachel,

I have not really tasted these supplements but they have a ‘green’ smell, kind of like plants and leaves. It is not offensive and just smells really natural. It is hard to say how a cat would react since cats are so individualistic and have very different preferences. The Tooth-n-Gums supplement is a green color from the chlorophyll and it makes their wet food green colored but there is no added color. I have not used all of these supplements but the ones I have used all have some variation on a natural, plant leaf smell. My 4 cats don’t mind the taste at all.

I have not used the liquid formulas from PetAlive but I would certainly give them a try.

      Thanks!

Thank you for such an in-depth review of some of the Pet Alive products.  I hadn’t heard of them before this year…but I am using Pet Alive Cushex for my elderly dog.   It’s a great treatment for cats and dogs who suffer from adrenal or pituitary disorders.

It’s done wonders for my dog as I believe it is helping to restore a proper balance in her system.  Many of her symptoms have lessened or disappeared.

The fact that these products are all natural and easy to administer makes it convenient to use and I don’t worry about exposing my pets to chemicals or drugs.

Keep up the great work in showing pet parents an alternative to toxic treatments

I’m so glad I cam upon your site! I have an almost 19 year old kitty (yes that’s in her 90s in human years) who suddenly started losing weight. When I took her to the vet, the blood tests came back that she has hyperthyroidism. He said We could either treat her with radioactive iodine therapy (expensive and scary), surgery to remove the thyroid (scary especially at her age, also costly ) or twice a day medication (not cheap either). She seems to be doing better on the medication but I didn’t know there were other options. It looks like Pet Alive has a product called Thyro-Pet which works for both hyperthyroidism and hypothyroidism and one bottle lasts about 3 months. This is definitely something I’m going to try!

      Hello Lynn,

I am so glad you found this too! I just got a comment from a gentleman here who uses another Pet Alive supplement for adrenal problems in his dog. He said it made a world of difference. I really hope the Thyro-Pet works for your 19 year old kitty girl. I have read good reviews of that one but have not had to use it myself.

As well as our first 3 we now have a 14 year old kitty whom we just adopted this year. She is very healthy luckily.

Please let me know how Thyro-Pet works. I am hoping for good news for you.

    Greetings Jessica,

Excellent article about Pet Alive Supplements. I worked at an animal hospital for over 5 years and definitely saw the benefits of pets whose owners made proactive health decisions such as supplements. It’s amazing that so much of the health approach, both for pets and people, is based in response and reaction instead of prevention. While I completely understand that disease and illness does happen, it is a lot cheaper (and more enjoyable) to avoid it altogether. I was also very pleased to see the all natural ingredients in these supplements and am interested in trying the skin and coat tonic for my dog, who get dry, itchy skin during the winter time when the air is very dry. Thanks for a great article and some really helpful information on all natural supplements!

    Cheers 🙂

      Hello Jurgen,

I have been using those two supplements for several years now so I can honestly recommend them. There is a warning about using the Gumz-n-Teeth for too long continuously but I talked to my vet and also called the company and talked to them. I determined the warning is just out of an abundance of caution. I decided to continue using it on a regular basis. If you want you could take a break now and then from using it however. The warning is just for pets that have a microchip since silica helps expel things out of the body. I learned that the level required for that to be a concern was much, much higher than the level in these supplements however.

Thank you for stopping by. I hope these work great for your dog just like they do for my fur babies!

      Hello Nate,

I have not used this product myself. I did not know about it when I had my old dogs. I wish I did! I have read reviews of it (there are more on other sites besides Amazon) and most all of them say they really helped the reviewers dogs. Several said they needed to stop or didn’t want to start prescription arthritis medicine due to kidney issues. These supplements are much easier on the kidneys. If you try it please let me know how it works.

I would definitely try it if I had an older pet right now that needed it and I do plan to use it as my pets get older. I have had amazing results with all of their other products. My cat had a fatty lipoma lump on his neck which the vets were highly concerned about. They said those are almost always cancerous in cats though they can be benign in dogs. They took numerous needle biopsies. Now the lump is gone! I believe it is due to Immunity and Liver Support supplement I give him every day. I think it helped his body get rid of the lump.

Thanks for your question and I hope you find great relief for your boy,

The fact that Pet Alive Supplements uses organic herbs and plant based ingredients with no artificial preservatives, colors, flavors or fillers makes it a special one according to your post. I would prefer to use the liquid drops type other than the capsule for my dog, because i think that will be easier for me to administer to my dog. With such ingredients you have listed that Pet Alive supplements contain i do not doubt you for recommending it. I really want to commend you for being able to administer it to your cat daily. I think i would have to learn from you so i can get one and  start administering it to my dog at least once a week ( i know i wont have much time to do that daily like you do (smiles)

I think that these supplements would be beneficial for our furry friends. I wonder how you would get them to eat them. It says capsule form and liquid and I assume you would just add it to their food right? I think dogs get smart and know if you have messed with their food so I would have to hide it from my dogs . They are too smart!

    Hi Jessica,

A good article about Pet Alive Supplements! I strongly agree that pet owners must provide nutritious supplements to cats and dogs as this is necessary knowledge for the pet’s body care. Many people think that it is enough to give food to pets, but they don’t know that the food of pets is the same as that of humans, there are many bacteria, and some supplements must be used to eliminate them. Although I don’t have a pet, I will pass this valuable information to a friend who likes pets.

It’s great finding this site as I just watched a video about pet foods by a veterinarian voted America’s favorite. In the video the doctor explained that pet food manufacturers use the minimum nutrient requirements allowed by law and that the dog food never matches the pictures on the bag. I’m alarmed about this information and after watching the video I am looking at the immune and liver supplements you have here, thanks for this great information.

      Hello John,

I agree. I don’t trust most pet foods and feel we need to add supplements to give our pets a balanced, healthy diet. If we don’t we are cutting their life and their health short. I love the Pet Alive brand and will continue to use it.

I also recommend Solid Gold brand pet foods. That is the brand I use after much searching. It is not as expensive as some top end brands but has genuine high quality ingredients including superfoods and probiotics. You can check out my review here: https://thrivingcat.com/what-i…This review is for the cat food in particular but if you click on any of the links to Amazon you can see their line of dog foods as well. Good to learn about this pet supplement. Your article was very informative and helpful. Pets need nutrition just as much as humans do so it only makes good sense to incorporate supplements in their daily diet. I was delighted to see that this supplement line is good for both dogs and/or cats. No need to double up supplies, the company should get a high five or high paw for that one! Cheers.

Thanks! I like how with these pet alive supplements you can actually mix them into the wet food because then it’s very easy to administer them. And they are definitely very effective. You can help your pets with their gums and their teeth or their immune systems or their muscles and joints.

I also appreciate that they are all natural and do not contain man-made chemicals. These are definitely some of the best pet supplements out there.

Great review of pet supplements. We are always looking for ways to keep our dog’s teeth clean. My daughter brushes them, yet the vet says we need to do more. I am glad I came across your post. Will help me to figure out how to help my dog with his teeth issue.

      Hello Dane,

I hope your cat gets a dental exam at a veterinarian. Tooth aches probably can’t be cured with a supplement. Thank you for stopping by and for your vote of confidence.

      Hello Dorcas,

No, I have not used the skin and coat formula but when I used the Digestive Support, I noticed it helped my cat’s skin and fur. They had less dandruff and shinier fur. I have full confidence in all the Pet Alive products and I would definitely try the skin and coat if I needed it.

      Thank you!

I have always been scared of using supplements for my self and didn’t really trust them enough for my cats either and I do t I ever came across supplements for cats in my local stores. I have 2 cats and one of them quite has a weak immune system as she is always sick and I have to incur regular treatment costs in a short period of time at the Vet. I’ll try the pet immune and liver support alive supplements. Pretty worried about the shopping costs my location is quite expensive to ship to.

    Hi Jessica!
Love your post here on the experience that you’ve had with the Pet Alive supplements.
I’m interested in supplements for my 3-year-old staffyX. I cook her a mix of meat, veggies and rice weekly, but I suppose I’m just an anxious mom and am constantly worried that I’m missing some key nutrients for her.

A lot of the above supplements look great for particular issues, but is there a specific multi-vitamin supplement that you can recommend?

    Hello Jessica,

This is a very informative article about pet supplements. It’s a good thing that they come as both capsules and small pills. I tend to choose organic and natural ingredients for pets this Pet Live brand seems like something I can use for a longer period of time. I am glad to hear they have a wide range of supplements for immunity and upper respiratory support, digestion, arthritis treatment and oral health. But I am concerned about the allergic reactions and side effects that may arise from long term use. So would you recommend taking veterinarian’s advice before using these supplements or is it okay to start without any professional opinion?

It never hurts to ask a veterinarian but most veterinarians don’t know much about supplements like this. My veterinarian starting recommending these supplements to other clients based on my recommendation.
